Nutritious snacks are an essential part of our young children’s diet, and with this in mind we provide healthy snacks throughout our school day and are sure to leave sweet treats and cakes for special occasions…
We have a special snack stop within our Nursery, here the children are taught to access their snacks and drinks independently throughout the day when they feel they require it. The children are taught how to pour their own drink and where they need to tidy it away when they have finished. They are also encourage to cut and prepare their own snacks, this is supported by an adult initially but then when the children develop the skills to use the tools safely and correctly they are able to use these independently.
Our parents and families donate fruit on a daily basis for our snack station and we receive milk from a government scheme to provide all Nursery schools with milk.
